Certified Equine Acupressure Practitioner by Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Insitiute
Acupressure is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
just like acupuncture, only instead of using needles,
acupressure is applied with noninvasive touch techniques
using fingers, hands, and/or elbows. Horses are highly
responsive to
acupressure because they are very in tune with
their bodies, and within a few treatments, most animals give
very clear indications and guidance regarding acupoints that
need attention.

Your horse, whether he is an athlete or your favorite trail
buddy, can benefit from having his body energetics balanced
to maintain his sense of well-being.

Acupressure offers horses natural healing and optimal health.

Benefits of
acupressure can include:
  • Boost the immune system
  • Resolve injuries more readily by increasing the
    blood supply
  • Balance energy to optimize the body's natural
    ability to heal
  • Enhance mental clarity and calm
  • Reduce fear and anxiety
  • Improve flexibility and mobility

Acupressure can be used to maintain the energetic balance in your horse. A
balanced horse is a healthy horse. It is thought in TCM, that energetic imbalances
can lead to disease.  By massaging or working specific acupressure points, energy
blockage along specific energetic pathways called meridians may be released,
allowing your horse to be healthy, flexible and in harmony and balance with
internal and external elements. TMC may also help with performance or behavioral
problems.

Acupressure can also address emotional problems. Moving to another stable,
losing a pasture or barn mate, boredom from being in a stall all day, or even
stress from a previous illness may cause an energetic imbalance.

You can participate in your horse's health by learning a few essential acupressure
points that you can use between professional acupressure sessions.
