Saddle Fit Evaluation

Basics of Good Saddle Fit

Often poor performance is simply due to pain or
discomfort caused by an ill fitting saddle.  A
correctly fit saddle is essential to the health and
well being of your horse.
Flocked panels are the most
traditional type of panel used in
English saddles.  The majority of
panels will need to be refilled,
reflocked or replaced during the life
of the saddle; therefore, panels
should be periodically checked for
lumps and bumps which can develop
over time.

A white patch of hair can be a sign
of damaged hair follicles caused by
improper fit of a saddle. Look for any
recent change in hair color in areas
of saddle and girth contact to the
horse.  .
